Mascots. Bathroom policies. Regionalization plans. Masks. Again and again, the Massapequa School Board takes community issues and turns them into political headlines by filing expensive lawsuits against the State of New York.

But these lawsuits aren’t resolving anything.

They are repeatedly dismissed without ever being heard, not because the issues are complex or close, but because the cases fail to meet the most basic legal requirements to exist at all.

The Board knows this, but files anyway. The question is why?
